A new life lived

For if we have become one with Him by sharing a death like His, we shall also Be [one with Him in sharing] His resurrection [by a new life lived for God].
:

This phrase “we too might [habitually] live and behave in newness of life” grabbed hold of my spirit this morning, and is leading me to ask more questions, to dig for answers, and ultimately get excited about Resurrection Sunday as an ongoing lifestyle and state of mind to share with JOY.
.
When I started life as a fitness & wellness coach, it was because there was a newness to life I wanted to share with women like me searching for it. That same joy and empowerment and peace and assurance. With their relationship with their bodies, with their relationship with their food, with their relationship with the deepest parts of self. And wouldn’t you know … all 3 hinge on our relationship with Jesus.
.
“Jesus is the truest answer to every question.” – Kari Jobe
.
In working with women over the years, I’m often asked HOW to apply God’s Word to emotional eating, to physical fitness, to marriage when you’re the only partner pursuing health, to life when you’re seeking purpose and fulfillment balanced with motherhood.
.
The best answer I’ve found for myself is in my willingness and intentional practice of listening for His Voice, leaning into His Presence, seeking His Face, and willing myself to want His Desires for me in each moment I’m faced with a decision to choose health and fitness, or anything less than His best for me body, soul, spirit.
.

This choosing of life keeps me from binge eating when stress hits and eating til I’m numb to escape the fears of the day.
.

I know that sounds deep and super spiritual but the beauty of it is that it’s quite simple and super practical and freeing.
.
I gain knowledge but I don’t live by rigid diet rules… Instead I ask for wisdom based on the knowledge He’s allowed me to learn and the self awareness, self discipline, and self love to see it through and apply it to my choosing .
.

So that I might “habitually live and behave in newness of life” (Rom 6)

Happy Resurrection Sunday, Friends!
