The other night my kids were begging me for a dessert and I needed to make something QUICK that would help satisfy their sweet tooth but also help ease my conscious as MOM to keep it HEALTHY! So… this is what I did!
1 banana, peeled and sliced
1 tsp no sugar added nut or seed butter (almond, peanut, sunflower, etc)
1 tsp pure maple syrup or raw local honey
cinnamon to taste
1 tsp extra virgin coconut oil (optional)
1 tsp slivered almonds, pecan or walnut pieces (optional)
If you are preparing it as a warm dessert:
1. heat coconut oil in a skillet on medium-low heat.
2. place banana in skillet and sautee until warm but not mushy.
3. Place banana slices onto a plate drizzle with nut butter, cinnamon, maple syrup, nuts.
Don’t like bananas? Swap it out for apples, pears, or nectarines! Mmmmm….
If you are serving it cold (uncooked), simply skip steps one and two above and serve cold on a plate (still yummy)!
