Mamas, Some mornings I have to convince my kids that my healthier ingredients also taste better! This morning was one of those times. It was up for debate if Mama’s French Toast is as good tasting if not better than the school’s French Toast.
My 8 year old was highly skeptical …AND THEN we drizzled that pure maple syrup on top and it was all she wrote! #battlewon Lol…
Want the recipe? It’s SO simple and yep – a bit healthier !
Served my 3 kids, 2 pieces of toast each. Counts as 1 protein, 2 carbs, 1/2 fruit, 1 healthy fat
Ingredients:
•6 eggs
•1/4 cup 100% pure maple syrup
•4 TBSP cinnamon
•1 TBSP grass fed organic butter
•6 slices whole wheat, whole grain, or sprouted bread
•6 Strawberries (or other berries) sliced
To make:
Heat butter in skillet over medium heat. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together first 3 ingredients. Dredge bread slices one at a time through egg mixture and place in skillet. Cook 1-2 min each side, or until lightly browned and egg coating cooked through. Remove from skillet and place 2 slices on each plate. Top with berries and drizzle lightly with maple syrup!
Enjoy the praise, Mama! Your kids will love it!
